CES 2020: Visteon to push next-gen digital cockpit

said that it will showcase next-generation automotive cockpit at the . The company claimed that its new cockpit technologies are designed to enhance safety and driving experience by enabling the transformation of cockpits to all-digital environments.

The company informs that its new generation cockpit solutions will focus on providing new-age digital clusters and multi-display modules, industry-first cockpit domain controllers, enhanced safety domain controllers for Level 2-plus automated driving and scalable Android-based infotainment solutions.

Visteon's new digital display technology is claimed to come with exceptional brightness and contrast with a rich colour gamut. It has been designed to bridge the gap between LCD and OLED display technologies.

A flexible rotating glass cockpit is also on the card, which can bend around the driver in sport mode or bend back to flat mode to allow the front passenger to view the display.

Commenting on these new products, Sachin Lawande, President and CEO, Visteon, said, “The cockpit is evolving to a fully digital environment with multiple curved, flexible displays that show information about the driving environment, vehicle dynamics and safety, as well as connected multimedia content. This transition requires the development of several new technologies to enhance the complete driving experience.”
