Ola ropes in Cognizant’s Rakesh Bhardwaj as Global CIO

Ride-hailing firm Ola has appointed Rakesh Bhardwaj as Global Chief Information Officer. In this role, Bhardwaj will lead strategic direction on process and technology initiatives

Ride-hailing firm has appointed as Global Chief Information Officer. In this role, Bhardwaj will lead strategic direction on process and technology initiatives.

“He will be working closely with businesses and partners, providing strategic direction to Ola's process and technology initiatives, which will cover the broad spectrum of Information Systems, Tools, Security, IT infrastructure & assets across the group,” said the company.

Bhardwaj will be based out of Bengaluru and will report to the company's co-founder and CEO, .

Bhardwaj has over 28 years of experience and has worked with companies like Microland Limited, GE Healthcare, and GE Capital.

More recently, Bhardwaj was SVP & Global at where he leads the IT organization, ensures that the company remains in the forefront of innovation as a technology-powered business and acts as a key business partner in enabling digital capabilities allowing the organization to be more flexible and resilient.

With an Engineering and MBA degree, Bhardwaj specialises in organisational change management, and he is passionate about leadership, learning and coaching.
