SIA tells Centre to install satellite based asset tracking systems to monitor Covid-19 supply chain

The company in a letter to the Centre said that in the current scenario it is critical for Covid-19 patients to receive the supply of virtual medical advice, medicines and oxygen in time

Ramping up its efforts to tide over the current pandemic crisis in the country, the (SIA) has asked the Union Health Minister to use real-time communication to track the essential supply chain of Covid-19 resources.

According to a letter sent by the association to the Union Health Ministry, the SIA said that the current day scenario in the country makes it critical for Covid-19 patients to receive the supply of virtual medical advice, medicines and oxygen in time.

SIA-India in its letter to the Health Minister said that space technology makes it possible to track convoys wherever they go and to schedule alerts in the event of anomalies occurring, which the drivers themselves can also receive, to enable them to react as quickly as possible.

SIA-India has also requested the Union government to speedily implement the use of satellite-based asset tracking systems to help save thousands of lives who are struggling under the current pandemic.
