UiPath, Bhashini sign MoU to boost digital inclusivity and business automation

With the aim to promote digital inclusivity and business automation, American (RPA) company and have announced a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This partnership represents a convergence of UiPath's expertise in business automation and Bhashini's advanced language translation capabilities, focusing on enhancing digital inclusivity across Indian languages.

Bhashini, introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi as part of the Digital India initiative, is an AI-driven language translation tool aimed at overcoming linguistic barriers in the digital space. It enables real-time translation across various Indian languages, making digital services accessible in native tongues.

UiPath is a global software company that provides a platform for Robotic Process Automation (RPA). Known for its role in streamlining business processes through automation, UiPath's platform enables organisations to deploy software robots that mimic and integrate human actions within digital systems. These robots can automate repetitive tasks across various applications and systems, leading to increased efficiency and productivity.

UiPath's technology is widely used in numerous industries for tasks like data entry, process automation, and complex workflows. The company has been aiming to transform India's public sector operations, including government, PSUs and defence sectors, by streamlining workflows and enhancing efficiency through automation.

According to a senior executive, this collaboration with Bhashini marks a new horizon in their venture, especially in the public sector. The integration of Bhashini's language models into UiPath's Business Automation Platform aims to accelerate document translation and other critical areas, particularly targeting the Indian linguistic landscape.

The MoU, signed by Amitabh Nag, CEO of Bhashini, Digital India Corporation, and Arun Balasubramanian, Managing Director – India & South Asia, UiPath, promises to bridge the gap between different language speakers and streamline business processes in India's linguistically diverse environment.

“The focus of this collaboration is the integration of BHASHINI's language models with the UiPath Business Automation Platform. The aim is to facilitate seamless language translations of documents and other essential areas, specifically targeting Indian languages supported by BHASHINI,” said a tweet from Bhasini.

A senior executive said that the partnership is not just a technological leap but also a step towards a more connected and digitally inclusive India, where language diversity is embraced and integrated into the digital framework, enhancing accessibility and efficiency in sectors like government, PSUs and defence.
