Lt. Gen. (Retd) Dr Rajesh Pant named Chairman, India Future Foundation

The non-profit think tank, India Future Foundation (IFF), has announced the appointment of Lt. Gen. (Retd) Dr Rajesh Pant as its Chairman.

New Delhi: The non-profit think tank, (IFF), has announced the appointment of Lt. Gen. (Retd) Dr Rajesh Pant as its Chairman.

Lt Gen. (Retd) Dr Pant previously held the position of National Cybersecurity Coordinator in the Prime Minister's Office, Government of India. During his term, India's ranking shifted from 47th to the top 10 in the UN Global Cybersecurity Index. Additionally, Dr Pant was responsible for the implementation of the Trusted Products directive in the Telecom sector.

Before his tenure as the National Cybersecurity Coordinator, Dr Pant was in charge of the Army's cyber training establishment. During this period, training programs were developed that catered to the needs of the Indian Army in terms of cyber defence.

Dr. Pant has served in the Army Signals Corps for over 41 years. His contributions in the areas of national security and cybersecurity have been acknowledged with three awards from the President of India.

On the academic front, Dr Pant holds a Ph.D. in information security metrics. His research in this field has contributed to cybersecurity advancements. Furthermore, he possesses an understanding of the complexities of information security, which has played a role in the development of cybersecurity protocols.
