With the aim to streamline meetings inside courtrooms and in chambers of judges in remote locations, has implemented a modern telepresence system from American networking giant Cisco.

The solution is a single-codec triple-screen system combining high-fidelity audio and video collaboration functionality with a seating capacity of 18 people, said a statement.

The new telepresence system is fitted with 4K ultra-high definition cameras and theatre-quality audio that the company says would give an impression to participants of sitting across the table.

“The Cisco IX 5000 Telepresence System is a state-of-the-art single-codec triple-screen system combining high-fidelity audio and video collaboration functionality with a seating capacity of 18 people. Its 4K ultra-high definition cameras and theatre-quality audio give an impression to participants of sitting across the table,” a statement said.

The telepresence facility was inaugurated by former Supreme Court Judge Justice Madan B Lokur in the presence of Chief Justice Rajendra Menon and other judges of the high court.

The telepresence room is also fitted with the camera for sharing any document with the participants. The system can easily integrate with the traditional video-conferencing system, IP phones and smart devices like desktops, laptops, tablets and mobile phones, using the hardware and software capabilities.

Using the present telepresence system, video conference meetings can be planned anywhere — inside courtrooms and in chambers of judges in remote locations. The system allows such web meetings to be pre-scheduled at any time. It also allows for real-time interactions via multiple modes.

According to the American firm, Cisco IX 5000 Telepresence System offers high-fidelity audio and video and rich collaboration functionality for immersive collaboration experience. It is the industry's first H.265 triple-screen product. It requires zero room remediation and takes only half the installation time, power, and bandwidth of existing products for better TCO and faster deployment.

Cisco IX 5000 Telepresence System comes with three 70-inch LCD screens, support H.265 on a triple-screen product, 1080p60 video on all three screens, 18 custom speakers and one subwoofer, three 4K Ultra High-Definition cameras, raised microphone bar for optimal audio pickup and it is available in 6 and 18-seat configurations.
