In a move to better digital connectivity in Karnataka, the Union ministry of electronics & information technology () has announced to set up a task force to look into issues regarding better connectivity. This comes after the Union minister of state, MeitY, received a representation from the state government over rising connectivity issues.

“A MeitY task force consisting of officers of National Internet Exchange of India () and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has swiftly commenced their visit and work. They will visit each district and meet people. They will also visit state government officials and submit a report to the Minister,” MeitY said in a statement.

The move also follows the recent Jan Ashirwad Yatra undertaken by Chandrasekhar in six districts of Karnataka, which saw numerous requests to improve speed and access to internet connectivity in parts of each district, following which the Minister promised that a MeitY task force would be sent to study the same.

Chandrasekhar is the Member of Rajya Sabha from Karnataka. One of the policy priorities of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government is to connect all Indians and ensure the benefits of the Digital India program reach every Indian directly.
