UiPath ropes in Prashant Momaya to lead sales engineering in India

Prashant Momaya, who comes from the data visualisation company Tableau, owned by Salesforce, will spearhead UiPath's sales engineering initiatives, enhance customer success, and play a leadership role in guiding the company's strategic direction in artificial intelligence-led automation.

Robotic Process Automation (RPA) firm has strengthened its leadership team in India with the addition of as Senior Director of Sales Engineering.

Momaya, who comes from the data visualisation company , now owned by Salesforce, will spearhead UiPath's sales engineering initiatives, enhance customer success, and play a leadership role in guiding the company's strategic direction in artificial intelligence-led automation.

Before joining UiPath, he served as Senior Director at Tableau, a role in which he made notable contributions to increasing brand awareness within the Indian market, supporting customer evaluations of Tableau's offerings, and leading initiatives aimed at customer success.

In a career spanning over two decades, Momaya led teams in data analytics and business intelligence, including a key role as Product Manager for SAS Visual Analytics. In this capacity, he leveraged data visualisation and exploratory data analysis to address complex business challenges.

He has also been part of Team Computers and Tata Consultancy Services, where he led consulting efforts in supply chain and service domains for manufacturing clients and was instrumental in developing advanced technology components in optimisation and analytics.

As UiPath continues to seek growth in India's enterprise automation software market, the addition of Momaya to its team is expected to bolster the company's capabilities in sales engineering.

Momaya earned a master's in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Delhi and is a well-known figure in India's data science circle.

Over the last two years, UiPath has been actively expanding its team in India, bringing in senior leadership to bolster its operations and customer success efforts across the enterprise and public sector, including the onboarding of Vinod Thomas Paul as Director of Government, Defence, and PSUs business in India last April.

Moreover, the company has significantly ramped up its focus on India through strategic initiatives and partnerships aimed at deepening its market penetration and leveraging the country's vast talent pool for technological innovation.

Recently, it partnered with FutureSkills Prime, a joint initiative of industry body Nasscom and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), to educate 5 lakh Indians on AI and automation by 2027 and similarly signed an MoU with the government's Bhashini to bridge the gap between different language speakers and streamline business processes in the country's linguistically diverse environment.

According to Arun Balasubramanian, Vice President and Managing Director of India and South Asia at UiPath, the advent of AI and automation opens India's economy and population to vast ‘new opportunities', which must be supported with a ‘dedicated commitment' to elevating the skills and expertise available in the market.
