Atlassian bets big on India, opens its first office in Bangalore

Australian software technology firm Corporation has opened a new office in . The company which provides team collaboration and productivity software said it plans to grow the office into a world-class R&D and customer support center during the next several years, with initial hiring already under way. This is Atlassian's first officer in India.

“Scaling Atlassian successfully is vital to building an enduring company. Bengaluru has exceptional technical talent, leadership, and business infrastructure that naturally aligns with our long-term company goals,” said Scott Farquhar, co-founder & co-CEO.

The company has hired its first two of many functional leaders for the location and plans to expand further in the coming months by adding a number of engineering, recruitment, design, product management, and customer support roles. Atlassian's new office is located in a temporary space at Embassy Golflinks Business Park, with plans to move to another, larger location in the next year.

Atlassian offers collaboration software that help teams organise, discuss and complete shared work. More than 112,000 customers, across large and small organisations – including Citigroup, eBay, Coca-Cola, Visa, BMW and NASA – use Atlassian's project tracking, content creation and sharing, real-time communication and service management products, said company.
