In last one week, two big Eligibility Test results have been declared. One from – BTET 2017 and other from – Gujarat TET 2. The results of both of these exams show a very poor state of affairs of teacher in India. While in Bihar only 17% candidates could pass the BTET 2017, the Gujarat could touch only 23%. Out of 214715 candidates who appeared for Gujarat government TET examination this year, only 50755 could passed it. Gujarat Teacher Eligibility Test 2 is a state level exam organised by Gujarat State Examination Board (GSEB). This examination is compulsory for those who wants to teach in government school in the state.

Similarly, Bihar government's Teacher Eligibility Test, BTET 2017 exam, saw a dismal performance. BSEB officials said only 16.07% candidates passed paper I, which was meant to test the eligibility for appointment as lower primary teachers (Class I to V) and 17.84% cleared paper II, meant to assess the eligibility for appointment as upper primary teachers (Class VI to VIII). The exam was meant to test the eligibility for the appointment as lower primary teachers. Altogether 43,794 aspirants wrote paper 1 and 1.68 lakh paper II, which were held on July 23 at 348 examination centres across the state.
