, developer of the software platform that enables chairside aligner treatment planning, has completed a $6 million Series C financing round which was led by .

uLab Systems is in the final stages of their pilot launch with plans for a full commercial release of the software at the American Association of Orthodontists' annual meeting in May of this year, said the company.

The pilot has been exceptionally successful; in about 6 months the movement plans for over 6,000 aligner cases have been completed using the uLab Systems software. Orthodontists in the pilot have been impressed with the power, versatility, and user-friendly design of the software which facilitates same day treatment starts.

John Sun of Light Bridge Ventures stated, “uLab Systems software is quite impressive and allows dental practitioners to create an aligner plan in as little as 10 minutes. We believe uLab Systems is the missing piece that will bring aligner treatment and printing in-house for many orthodontists.”

“We are very excited to welcome John and Light Bridge Ventures to the company as they are not only a source of important growth capital but provide us with valuable strategic ties to the Asian marketplace. With the completion of this financing, we are very well positioned to execute on our upcoming, full commercial launch and growth strategy. We remain very encouraged with the evolution of the clear aligner market and have even greater conviction that an intuitive and easy-to-use chairside treatment planning software platform will be the key piece to enabling in-office aligner fabrication and same-day starts, while also putting control back in the hands of the orthodontist. Lastly, with this financing, we look forward to completing the development of our uContour system which enables the trimming of at least 12 aligners at a time,” said Mark Foley, Chairman of the Board of uLab.
