Google adds new feature “style ideas” on image search to boost fashion sale

Through this feature users can now get an idea of how a product looks by glancing through high quality, fashionable images

According to Google if a user is searching for fashion items like shoes, bag, jeans or anything else, they can now see real-life options with the help of ‘style ideas’.

Targeting at the people looking to buy products online, global search giant has introduced a new feature in called ‘style ideas' on mobile web and in the Google app for Android.

The new feature from in Google image search will show an expanded carousel for “similar items” while searching for apparel products. That means whether one is searching for shorts and sneakers or checking out sunglasses and handbags, they now will be able to find product offerings that may suit their tastes, said Google.

“Through this feature, users can get an idea of how a product looks by glancing through high quality, fashionable images,” Google said.

The fashion industry these days has expanded in such a way that it is hard to know where to start. For example, if a user is confused on what bag and jeans match a particular pair of footwear or needs some ensemble ideas, the new update on Google image search highlights a variety of options, depending on preferred style, colour, pattern. This will help user in their search for online shopping items.

Google did not elaborate on whether it has partnered with firms like amazon.com, ebay.com, flipkart.com etc for ‘style ideas.'
