Xiaomi sold 10 million Redmi 5A smartphone in India

Chinese smartphone maker said that it has sold 10 million in India. Redmi 5A smartphone model crosses 10 million sales in nine months as per the IDC's monthly smartphone tracker for August 2018. Xiaomi India launched Redmi 6A, successor to the Redmi 5A, earlier in September 2018.

Redmi 6A offers a promising upgrade with a 5.45” 18:9 Full Screen Display with an HD+ resolution. It sports the Helio A22 SoC which makes Redmi 6A the only smartphone in this segment with a 12nm processor. Redmi 6A's 3000mAh all-day battery allows the phone to stay in standby mode for up to 9 days. Redmi 6A also has a 13MP rear camera featuring phase detection autofocus with Electronic Image Stabilization and a 5MP front camera—both capable of using Xiaomi's AI Portrait mode. Redmi 6A launched with MIUI 9.6 based on Android O has already been updated to MIUI 10 which has also been optimized, reducing system apps' memory usage by nearly 30%.

Redmi 6A comes in two variants: 2GB + 16GB for Rs 5,999 and 2GB + 32GB for Rs 6,999 as introductory prices for two months, and is available on Mi.com and Amazon.com as well as in Xiaomi's flagship Mi Home stores.
