Google eyes wearable segment, to launch Pixel Watch in October

The new Pixel Watch that borrows fitness tracking features from Fitbit will take on the premium smartwatches from Apple and Samsung.

Eyeing a bigger market across the wearable segment, global technology major Google is ready to roll out its soon. According to the tech giant, the launch of the Pixel Watch is slated during its annual developer conference Google I/O 2022.

The new Pixel Watch that borrows fitness tracking features from Fitbit will take on the premium smartwatches from and . Now a new report has surfaced online giving more information about the yet-to-launch smartwatch from Google.

According to a report by 9 to 5 Google, the Pixel Watch is said to be powered by Exynos 9110 chipset and as an always-on display. The wearable is said to pack 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.

As per industry experts, Pixel Watch seems to be impressive, but while there are some knowns, there are also some key unknowns. The upcoming Google smartwatch will run on an updated version of Wear OS 3. It will feature a Fitbit integration to help users keep track of their health metrics, including heart rate and sleep tracking.

The new smartwatch will launch along with the Pixel 7 series later this year in October 2022. Pixel Watch sports a circular design and features a ‘tactile' crown and side button.

The watch is made of recycled stainless steel and will have swappable bands. As per Google, Pixel Watch will come with native Google apps including Google Maps, Google Assistant, and more.
