The (NHA) hosted an exclusive convention for (ABDM) technology partners to discuss ways to strengthen the digital health ecosystem in India, said a statement.

Speaking to the participants, , CEO, NHA, stated, “The primary objective of ABDM is to utilise technology to deliver health services to the country's most remote regions.”

He said that to address the lack of infrastructure and access to doctors, ABDM envisions the online migration of all healthcare-related activities. “For this reason, it is imperative that we begin enrolling healthcare professionals and health facilities in the ABDM-built national registries of Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR) and Health Facilities Registry (HFR),” he explained.

Using the published open APIs, according to Sharma, health technology companies can introduce innovative solutions with fewer steps to onboard professionals and facilities. They can train additional small players on the ABDM onboarding procedure and raise awareness of the advantages of registering in HFR and HPR.

NHA Building Digital Public Goods

“We also seek inputs from health tech partners as to how we can activate the ecosystem for building digital public goods (DPGs), expanding the scope of DPGs such as the online reservation system (ORS) created by NIC, the blood bank created by NIC/CDAC, universal immunisation, and NOTTO, and taking them to the end-users in a more structured and easily adaptable manner,” Sharma added.

The event brought together representatives from over 40 government and private health tech organisations to discuss the future of India's digital health ecosystem, scheme updates, upcoming ABDM features, and the obstacles encountered along the way, said NHA.
