and Elekta have announced a collaboration to expand the accessibility of precision solutions in India. The alliance seeks to offer hospitals a broad spectrum of services, encompassing both diagnostics and treatment for patients in need of radiation therapy.

The integration of GE HealthCare's diagnostic solutions with Elekta's radiation therapy systems is expected to enhance service offerings for hospitals, leading to better patient care.

The commitment of GE HealthCare to enhance cancer care by bolstering several collaborations is ongoing. The firm has been merging complementary solutions and technologies along the radiation therapy treatment pathway over the years. The collaboration with Elekta in India exemplifies GE HealthCare's dedication to improving cancer results through cooperation with multiple partners and providers, said the company.

“We continue to expand our oncology offerings through strategic collaborations in adjacent fields that are also leaders in their disciplines. Through this collaboration with Elekta our vision is to enable more efficient, precise and personalized care across the cancer care continuum. We will remain focused on investments that can deliver the best cancer care, offering solutions that transform and humanise care,” said , President & CEO, GE HealthCare South Asia and Managing Director, Wipro GE Healthcare.

Radiation therapy plays a crucial role in cancer treatment, with over half of cancer patients requiring this form of therapy. Together, these advanced offerings are designed to improve outcomes and increase the quality of life for patients. Elekta strives to assure that hospitals and cancer centers can create seamless ecosystems that facilitate efficient end-to-end cancer caree,” said , Senior Vice President, TIMEA & Asia Pacific and Managing Director, India & South Africa, Elekta.

GE HealthCare and Elekta will persist in offering their individual solutions using standard interoperability and will enable interfaces with any vendor's systems. The agreement is non-exclusive, allowing each party to continue collaborations with other partners.
