With cases growing across the country including in Delhi, the sale of face masks, sanitizer, and gloves have soared disproportionately.

According to an unverified industry figure, the sale of face masks, sanitizer, and gloves witnessed a jump of over 316% across the country in last three months.

The company such as TradeIndia, Pee Safe and Dettol which deal in such products and services said that people are rushing to medical stores to get their hands on either N95 or surgical face masks to protect themselves from the threat of coronavirus.

Talking to various medical stores in Noida, ABP reported that there is gradual jump in the demand of face mask and many of the stores are placing new orders to meet the demand.

However, there is no credible report to suggest that face masks are the best protection against the virus, despite that there is surge in demand for face masks leading to soaring prices.

CNBC reported that a pack of five 3M face masks is currently selling for almost $200 on Walmart.com, approximately five times what the same pack cost just one month ago.

In India, the major demand is coming from retailers in big cities for reselling purpose. In fact, there is increase in demand of mask making machine by 250%, said online B2B platform TradeIndia.
