Google plans changes in Play Store listing layout

Google announced its plans to modify the Play Store listing layout in a post on its developers’ blog.

Global technology giant has announced to introduce a slew of changes to its Play Store mostly related to the interface, essentially the layout. According to reports, in September, Google had updated its Play Store app for devices with large displays and came out with a redesigned layout featuring a new side rail with intuitive icons making it easier to navigate and access.

Google announced its plans to modify the Play Store listing layout in a post on its developers' blog. The tech company in its post emphasised the importance of having an easy interface for enhanced user experience.

The changes are expected to come to the application sometime in 2023. The main highlight of the changes would be the positioning of the app listing which will be at the front and centre of Google Play.

“Your Play Store listing is the best way to help prospective users understand the functionality and value of your app. The assets and information you provide – descriptions, images, and videos – are essential to users looking to make a decision on what to download”, Google said in a post.

Google has also enumerated the expected improvements that it has been working upon. The company has announced modifications to form-factor-homepages which will allow users to get greater visibility for their app and store listing details on non-mobile devices such as smartwatches, and cars through their smartphones.
