Why not? After all, after a long time and with Supreme Court direction, the government is conducting SSC MTS Exam. The first attempt of SSC to conduct these examination in a pen-paper based mode went completely haywire and it was forced to opt for computer-based mode, which seems to be more reliable, quick and easy for both students and commission.

But the aspirants would know that more than millions of candidates are fighting for about 8000 vacancies. It means only fraction of them would have chance to qualify for the next round – Tier-II exam. According to experts, the most important thing for cracking this exam is time management, understanding of exam pattern and complete understanding of your strength and weakness. Here are a few tips that may help you sail through SSC MTS Exam on September 16.

Tips for SSC MTS Exam on September 16, 2017

You must know that SSC MTS Exam 2017 on September 16 will be conducted in computer-based mode. Make yourself familiar with the new system. If you have never appeared in a computer-based examination, do watch video released by SSC  on this examination. SSC has released a four-minute tutorial video. Click to see the video. It is a demo video to equip candidates with a computer-based examination system.

Understand the pattern of SSC MTS Exam 2017. You will be tested on four subjects – general intelligence & reasoning, numerical aptitude, general English, general awareness. Each of these subjects have been given equal weight of 25 marks. The total number of marks would be 100. The duration of exam would be 90 minutes for general candidates and 120 minutes for visually handicapped, cerebral palsy candidates. In 90 minutes, you have to solve 100 questions.

It means you must solve a questions within 54 second. So the time management is the key. Know your strength and weakness, allow more time to your weak areas. Attempt the questions that you know you can sail through. The exam is no time for you to experiment.

Do not hate or love a question. Just solve it or move. Solving a difficult question would fetch you the same marks as an easy ones. So invest your time in questions that are easy for you. Drop the tough question or leave it for end. Forget about the question you dropped. You are going to lose marks if you obsess over dropped questions

As said above, allot less time to a subject in which you are strong, use that saved time for for difficult subjects like Quant. According to experts, questions in the Reasoning and Quant sections can be time consuming. Identify the short ones and comprehension questions without too many calculations and attempt those first.

Possibly, no candidate would be attempting all the questions, so you should also not worry about that. Just choose the questions which are easier and less time consuming at starting, next move to moderate one and finally, if you have time go for tough one.

Last but not the least, do not guess. And, always remember that there is negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answers. We wish you good luck!
