BSE Odisha conducts OTET 2017 exam today; OTET 2017 Results to be announced by October 25

OTET 2017 examination were held in two shifts from 10 am to 12.30 pm for Paper I and from 2 pm to 4.30 pm for Paper II today. The OTET 2017 Results is likely to be announced within a month.

The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2017 was conducted on Monday across the state by Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test () 2017 was conducted on Monday across the state by Board of Secondary , Odisha. OTET 2017 examination were held in two shifts from 10 am to 12.30 pm for Paper I and from 2 pm to 4.30 pm for Paper II. The online registration for OTET 2017 (1st) began on August 25 at 08.00 a.m. and it ended on September 6, midnight. The board released the admit card on September 12. As per OTET rule, there were two papers – paper 1 and paper 2. A candidate was allowed to appear in any one paper. The paper 1 was of 150 marks and it contained question on child development and pedagogy, a regional language (Odia, Urdu, Hindi, Telugu or Bengali), English, mathematics and environmental studies. On the other hand, the paper 2 was of total 150 marks. It had questions on three compulsory subjects- child development and pedagogy, a regional language and English- and an optional subject.

According to experts both the paper was of moderate level and more or less followed similar pattern as last year. BSE had released last year papers on the website to make candidates more acquitted with pattern. OTET is mandatory for teaching Class-I o VIII students in the schools of the state government, private aided schools and private unaided schools in the Odisha. Candidates intending to seek employment as teachers in private un-aided schools also have the option of appearing at Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by central government through CBSE. The minimum qualification to be considered for OTET 2017 is class 12th from a recognised board or institute.

OTET 2017 Results

OTET is conducted every year by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha which is a corporate body constituted under the Odisha Secondary Education Act, 1953. It regulates, controls and develops Secondary Education in Odisha. It offers varied courses in order to equip students for different occupations, to prepare them for university education and to equip them for various cultural purposes. OTET 2017 results is likely to be announced in a month time. Last year exam was held on August 3, 2016 and results were announced on August 31, 2016. So far board has not officially communicated any date for result declaration.
