Walton gave priority to  people needs and tech during Corona: Golam

Dhaka: Golam Murshed, Managing Director and CEO of 's tech giant congratulated Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on receiving the SDG Progress Award. “Covid-19 was a lot of challenges for us,”

The speakers discussed the business challenges and ways to deal with them in the changed situation during Covid-19.

Ghulam Murshed said, “When the country is in great danger, we stop business activities and jump into the needs of the country.” When the incidence of corona decreases, we resume business activities. Our business has gone very well even in the midst of the epidemic. During this time, Walton's electronics exports increased from 1.4 million to 14 million.”

He added that despite the epidemic, the country's infrastructural development activities were active. All activities including the Matarbari project, Padma bridge, Rooppur power station were in progress. Similarly, Walton's R&D (research and development) sector has done an excellent job. Corona may be very bad for us, but all that Bengalis can do for the needs of the country has been proved once again in Corona.

“Private industries and educational institutions are going to work together in research and innovation of new technologies and products. Very soon we are going to get something better.”
