Four e-commerce firms membership suspended: e-Cab

The Bangladesh E-Commerce Association of Bangladesh (E-CAB) has suspended the membership of Evaly, Dhamakashping, Sirajganj Shop, and Glitter's RST World.

Dhaka: The Association of Bangladesh () has suspended the membership of Evaly, Dhamakashping, Sirajganj Shop, and Glitter's World.

A press release sent from e-Cab on Wednesday said that the membership of the four organizations has been suspended. According to the press release, the decision to cancel the membership of the organizations was taken at the meeting of the executive council of e-Cab on September 28.

Earlier, on August 18, the membership of 4 organizations was suspended. Recently, based on complaints and surveillance, e-Cab has suspended the membership of 6 organizations on various allegations.

On 28 August, E-Cab formed a of 11 members to make decisions on other accused organizations. The committee recommended suspension of membership of the accused organizations.

The allegations made against the platforms are- Evaly.com Ltd, allegations of not resolving the problems of the buyers even after taking time for a long time, not providing information to the e-cab as per the demand, not fully complying with the Digital Commerce Guideline-2021, and not taking satisfactory steps to pay the buyers and sellers. The membership of the organization has been suspended considering the public debt of the buyer.

Dhamaka Shopping has been suspended for several months for non-return of goods or refunds to buyers, failure to announce a specific date for resolving complaints from buyers and suppliers, and failure to take any visible steps to pay buyers and sellers dues.

The membership of Sirajganj Shop has been suspended on various charges including non-response to the e-cab letters, non-response to complaints and non-compliance with Digital Commerce Guidelines-2021, non-provision of relevant information, and non-refund of customer's money.
