US Embassy will support blended learning in universities

A delegation from the US Embassy in Dhaka made the remarks at a meeting with representatives of the University Grants Commission (UGC) at a hotel in the capital today.

Dhaka: The US Embassy in Dhaka has expressed interest in providing necessary assistance to 's higher education institutions to take forward online education and blended learning activities.

Besides, the embassy has also decided to provide scholarships for teachers of the country's universities to pursue higher degrees in American universities.

A delegation from the US Embassy in Dhaka made the remarks at a meeting with representatives of the University Grants Commission () at a hotel in the capital today.

During the meeting, the two sides agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding () for joint ventures in the field of higher education in Bangladesh.

UGC Chairman Prof. In his speech, Kazi Shahidullah called for a waiver of tuition fees for Bangladeshis pursuing higher degrees in American universities.

UGC chairman UGC member Professor took part in the meeting.

Muhammad Alamgir, Secretary (additional responsibilities), Ferdous Zaman and Director (Additional Responsibilities) Makshudur Rahman Bhuiyan, Public Affairs Officer at the US Embassy in Dhaka Shawn McEntosh, Cultural Affairs Officer Charlina Morgan, Cultural Affairs Specialist Raihana Sultana and English Language Proctor.
