Dhaka's speaker of the National Parliament said that online education can play an important role in reviving and normalizing the education sector which is highly affected due to pandemics.

In Bangladesh, as in the rest of the world, educational activities have been disrupted by Corona's adverse response. If the ongoing Covid-19 epidemic is prolonged, innovative solutions will have to be found to move the disrupted education sector forward. In this case, activities can be an alternative option.

The speaker made the remarks while addressing a virtual Global Education Summit titled High-Level Round Table for Parliamentarians on Education Financing, a joint venture between the CPA and the International Parliamentary Network for Education.

The Speaker said: “in this age of globalization, no one will lag behind in pursuing the agenda of sustainable development goals. Everyone should make an effort so that the Covid-19 epidemic does not have any adverse effect on the education sector.”

Mobile data and ancillary costs, ranging from the internet system, are a challenge to enable online learning activities in cities and villages. In this case, additional financial allocation will be required in the budget, she added.

The Speaker imparted that finding a way to keep marginalized, backward and poor students involved in education by keeping girl students away from child marriage and child labour, in particular, is a big challenge for the MPs.

The stipend can be expanded to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic from increasing the dropout rate of children.

Julia Gillard, Harriet Baldwin, Joseph Han O'Reilly, Natalia Ilina Intotero, Shraddha Koirala, Minister Sengheh, Stephen Twigg, Margaret Kamar, Ziad Abdul Taif, George Amr, Joe Cohen, Jalaluddin Alias, and other valuable speeches. Prominent people from different parts of the world were virtually involved in the event.
