Bangladesh Cabinet instructs govt offices to go virtual in lockdown

Restrictions have been extended until July 14 to prevent infection. At this time the official work of some government offices is going on virtually.

Dhaka — The Division has directed to conduct virtually all functions of government offices under the current restrictions to curb coronavirus infection. A letter in this regard has been sent to all the senior secretaries from the department on Sunday.

The letter said, “Restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection have directed the closure of all government, , autonomous and private offices.”

With the exception of the current situation in the country, all emergency offices and service activities are running.

“In this case, all government offices are requested to take necessary steps to complete the office work virtually (e-documents, e-tendering, SMS, and other means).”

Strict restrictions were imposed across the country from July 1 to prevent the spread of the pandemic coronavirus.

Restrictions have been extended until July 14 to prevent infection. At this time the official work of some government offices is going on virtually.

This time, the cabinet department has been directed to take necessary steps to virtually complete the office work of the remaining government offices which were closed during the Corona period.
