Huawei India R&D Center launches wellness center for its employees

Bangalore: Technologies India, the first overseas R&D Center of Huawei announced the launch of a wellness center – iHealth Center for its employees, in its Bengaluru campus. The iHealth wellness center is an initiative of Huawei globally to promote employee well-being and provide immediate health care facilities for its employees around the world.

The company has tied-up with Columbia Asia Hospital to run the wellness center, which is staffed with doctor and nurse, and will provide consultation, first-aid treatment, and medical emergency management for Huawei's employees. The wellness center is equipped with 3 consultation rooms with beds that also double up as treatment rooms, said company.

Apart from providing medical treatment, the wellness center will also run health related campaigns such as ergonomics, health checkups, cardiac care, and diabetes periodically.

“Employee health and safety is always our priority and Huawei has established a comprehensive employee benefit system. We have invested in very good fitness and sports facilities, and encourage our staff to regularly engage in sports activities. Employees participate in various tournaments, art and cultural programmes, and have set up clubs for photography, running, dance, music, etc, which help in keeping the body and mind healthy and rejuvenated,” stated William Zhao, CEO of Huawei Technologies India.

The was first launched in Beijing Research Center in 2016, and has been set up in most of the R&D centers of Chinese firm serving 80,000 employees currently.
