Indian IT firm Tech Mahindra announced that it has been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) for the 3rd year in a row.

Indian IT firm announced that it has been included in the (DJSI) for the 3rd year in a row. The S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) is one of the world's leading index providers, and is an investment specialist focused exclusively on Sustainability Investing (SI).

The company, said it is one amongst the only 4 Indian companies to make it to the DJSI World Index and included as one of the 11 Indian companies in the DJSI Emerging Markets category, retained its position in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index under both the categories. Earlier, Indian IT major Infosys has informed that it has been DJSI.

The DJSI ranking is a validation for any  company towards driving its sustainability agenda. Tech Mahindra said that it has taken specific measures such as investments in renewable energy and water reusability projects; focused investments in innovative solutions in green sustainability solutions sphere such as SMART-Cities concept, Micro Grid which helps its customers achieve their sustainability goals; investments in associate engagement which has helped towards associate well-being and creating a better talent pool. Tech Mahindra Foundation has carried out social initiatives reaching over a 400,000 direct and indirect beneficiaries in space of education and employability.

Launched in 1999, the DJSI World represents the gold standard for corporate sustainability and is the first global index to track the leading sustainability-driven companies based on RobecoSAM's analysis of financially material Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors and S&P DJI's robust index methodology. Every year, RobecoSAM assesses the world's largest companies via its Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA), which uses a consistent, rules-based methodology to convert an average of 600 data points per company into one overall score. This score determines inclusion in the DJSI
