Days after facing flack for mishandling the law and order situation in the aftermath of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh conviction in rape case, the Haryana government in association with industry lobby body National Association of Software and Services Companies (NASSCOM) organised the first edition of Digital Haryana Summit today.
According to a statement, the daylong summit was organised as part of the state's Swarna Jayanti celebrations, where industry experts, visionaries, thought leaders, policy makers, and academicians came together to discuss the foundation of the state's digital growth story.
The summit which saw the participation of members of Haryana government, BJP office bearers, Nasscom and KPMG officials, along with multinational firms like Microsoft and AWS among others, was inaugurated by Union IT minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, and State Electronics & I.T. Departments Principal Secretary Devender Singh.
Speakers after speakers reiterated the Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of Digital India and during the event Haryana government launched its IT & ESDM Policy, Tower Policy, Start Up Policy, Cyber Security Policy and SARAL Citizen delivery tracking Portal.
State government has also partnered with NASSCOM for opening of startup warehouse in Gurgaon, with an eighty-four seater capacity along with a mobile application development incubation center within the warehouse. Nasscom informed that the warehouse has already received more than 350 applications from the startups.
In addition, to promote innovation in the field of emerging technologies like IoT, Robotics and Artificial intelligence (AI) and create an ecosystem for the adoption of newer solutions in the industry, MeitY, Government of India in partnership with state government and NASSCOM announced the launch of Center of Excellence in Haryana.
