Common service centre (), an e-governance delivery centre of Ministry of IT & Electronics will organise a workshop on to inform and educate select (VLEs) and state-level employees of CSC SPV on the developments in GST, said Ministry of IT & Electronics.

(GST) is an upcoming system of taxation which will merge many individually applied taxes into a single tax. The GST is likely to be rolled-out from July 1, 2017.

Although the GST system will have a G2B portal for taxpayers to access the GST systems, GST Suvidha Provider or GSP is one of the methods of interacting with the GST system. The taxpayer via GST Suvidha Provider, which will provide all user interfaces and convenience via desktop, mobile and other interfaces, will be able to interact with the GST system.

CSC SPV has taken the initiative of becoming a GST Suvidha Provider. So now all Common Services Centres across the country would act as GST Suvidha Provider and will help merchants in filing taxes under the new regime and also provide necessary training and support services to people, said government.

In order to inform and educate select VLEs and state-level employees of CSC SPV on the developments in GST, a workshop is being held at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi on May 29, 2017, said Ministry of IT & Electronics.

The workshop will cover various aspects of GST and GSP, which will assist the VLEs and CSC State officials to roll out the service smoothly.

The day-long event will have sessions on the topics such as “Overview & technology of , GST Act, Tax Invoices, Registration and e-Commerce, Returns & Compliances, Role of GSP, Application Demo.”

Senior officials from Finance Ministry, GSTN, CDFI would be present on the occasion to conduct the informative sessions, said government.

The Common Service Center (CSC) are ICT enabled front end service delivery points at the village level enabling delivery of government, financial, social and private sector services in the areas of agriculture, health, education, entertainment, FMCG products, banking, insurance, pension, utility payments, etc. CSCs are managed and operated by a village level entrepreneur (VLE).
