Google ready with new TV stick launch in India, product listed on Flipkart seen as a rival to Fire Stick

Expanding its technology offering in India, global tech major has announced to launch its much-awaited Pixel 6a in the country soon. The new stick is seen as a rival to the popular Fire Stick TV.

The new and updated Chromecast with Google TV was (4K) recently listed on , suggesting that the product is heading to India. As of now, there is no official word from Google on the launch of Google Chromecast with TV (4K) in India.

However, the listing on Flipkart suggests that Google's rival to the Fire Stick TV will soon be available in India. The listing also reveals that the Chromecast with TV (4K) might cost Rs 6,399 in India. Google Chromecast with TV (4K) was first launched in the US in September 2020 for $49.9 (~Rs 3,948).

Flipkart's listing also reveals some offers on the upcoming Chromecast with TV (4K) that customers would be able to avail of upon the launch. First, there will be a 10 per cent instant discount on Citi Bank and Bank of Baroda debit and credit card transactions.

Further, customers can get a 10 percent discount on the Citibank credit card EMI transactions. Customers can purchase the Chromecast with TV (4K) on no-cost EMI. And there is also a 5 percent discount on the Flipkart Axis Bank credit card.

Flipkart would also be offering other Google products at a discounted price on the purchase of the upcoming Chromecast with TV (4K). So, customers purchasing the new and upgraded Chromecast would be eligible to get the Nest Mini Hub, originally priced at Rs 6,999 for Rs 4,999.

While the Google Nest Mini-attach would be available for Rs 1,999. Also, the company will be offering up to Rs 500 discount on Flipkart Furniture.

Like the older Chromecasts, the Chromecast with TV (4K) is a dongle that can be plugged into the television through an HDMI port. However, it is a major update compared to the original Chromecast. As the name implies, the new Chromecast supports Google TV, enabling a full-fledged operating system on your non-smart television rather than just bringing support for casting content from your smartphone. Besides this, Chromecast with TV (4K) supports 4K HDR playback up to 60 fps and Dolby Vision. Also, it has a dedicated remote unlike any of the previous iterations of Chromecast.
