Teleindia Networks announced DataSamudra, a greenfield hyperscale data center in Bengaluru, on Friday. Karnataka IT minister CN Ashwath Narayan and Amajit Gupta, CEO of Lightstorm Telecom Connectivity, were present during the launch, said a statement.
According to the company, DataSamudra will be India's first ‘on-demand, on-requirement data centre.' Narayan spoke on the occasion about the prospects these projects bring to the state and how they add value to the state's IT industry.
“Employment generation, global focus, and creating new avenues for emerging businesses are some of the immediate outcomes such projects bring about. DataSamudra will be a key contributor for such growth,” the minister was quoted as saying.

DataSamudra is located in Bengaluru's new KIADB IT Park, which features state-of-the-art facilities and a built-up space of one lakh square feet. It will have 500 high-density racks, a 3 MW IT power load, and future IT and core infrastructure, according to the announcement.
