The state minister was speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the 'E-Joyeeta' Foundation's 'E-Joyeeta' Market Place' at Rapa Plaza in Dhanmondi on Tuesday.

Dhaka: The State Minister for Women and Children Affairs Fazilatun Nesa has said that ‘' Market Place' will play an important role in creating and developing women in the country.

She said e-commerce is becoming increasingly popular. Eighty percent of the country's e-commerce companies are run by women entrepreneurs. As a result, they are becoming self-sufficient by achieving financial well-being.

The state minister was speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony of the ‘E-Joyeeta' Foundation's ‘E-Joyeeta' Market Place' at Rapa Plaza in Dhanmondi on Tuesday.

Presided over by Afroza Khan, Managing Director, Jayita Foundation, the event was attended by Secretary of the Ministry Md. Sayedul Islam, Chairman of the National Women's Organization Begum Chemon Ara Tayyab and Vice President of E-Cab Mohammad Sahab Uddin.

Among others, officials of the Ministry and ‘E-Joyeeta' Foundation at various levels and women entrepreneurs were also present.

The state minister said Prime Minister has extended the benefits of information technology to villages.

E-commerce is developing rapidly in the country during the Covid-19 epidemic. Many have left their jobs to join e-commerce and earn more than before.

In addition, with the help of information and technology, the youth of the country are able to create their own employment opportunities in e-commerce.

Secretary of the Ministry Md. Saidul Islam said that about one lakh women entrepreneurs will be able to join the ‘E-Joyeeta' online marketplace.

Registration of entrepreneurs from all districts has started. On the other hand, shoppers can choose the product of their choice from this marketplace with the help of video calls. They will also be able to order products from any country in the world through bank cards and mobile banking.
