Huawei pushes for developing a sustainable 5G sector

5G is critical for enhancing customer experiences and accelerating industries' digital and intelligent transformation

Dhaka — Huawei has produced a white paper titled ‘5G-Advanced Technology Evolution from a Network Perspective — Towards a New Era of Intelligent Connect X’ in partnership with industry partners to provide guidance for promoting 5G technologies and developing a sustainable 5G sector.

Duan Xiaodong (Vice President of the China Mobile Research Institute), Liu Hong (Head of Technology for Greater China, GSMA), Richard Liu (President of Huawei’s Cloud Core Network Product Line), and Harri Holma (Fellow and Chief Advisor of Nokia’s Radio Systems) attended the release ceremony and delivered keynote speeches.

The 3GPP has formally announced 5.5G as the second phase of 5G, dubbed 5G-Advanced, with the goal of maximising 5G’s social and commercial value. Industry partners collaborated to create this white paper to define the requirements and technology for its evolution from 5G and to accelerate its network development.

5G is critical for enhancing customer experiences and accelerating industries’ digital and intelligent transformation. And the core network is critical to the future of 5G-Advanced networks. As a result, it is critical to align the 5G core network architecture and technology with business models.

5G-Advanced will improve both the 5G architecture and technology to enhance network capabilities and fulfil ever-diversifying service requirements. 5G-Advanced network architecture will significantly improve cloud- and computing-network synergies. Additionally, 5G-Advanced technologies will broaden the application of AI, allowing the convergence of disparate RATs and network types for unified support, and provide customised network services.
