Similarly, clone PCs of the same quality may cost less than branded PCs.

Besides, an opportunity was created to set up a factory for making computers and laptops of international brands in Bangladesh like mobile. The proposed budget, concessional facilities have been given for the import of raw materials or materials used in the production of computers locally.

The raw materials used in computer manufacturing are copper war; Jumper Wire, Aluminum Foil, Solder Tinbar, Soldering Wire, Solder Lidbar, Potassium Permanganate, Uncovered PhotoSensitive Hand Emulsion Film, HASL Flux, Solderrich, Dolder, Soldering Flux, Ceramic Dielectric Multi-Layer Capacitors, and Aluminum Electric Capacitors.

On the other hand, Finance Minister AHM has proposed to exempt VAT at the production stage on import of computer or laptop making equipment, especially RAM, PCBA / Motherboard, SSD, hard disk drive, loaded PCB, USB cable.

In his budget speech, the finance minister proposed a 10-year tax exemption on domestically produced products in the proposed budget for the 2021-22 fiscal year with the aim of establishing a ‘Made in Bangladesh' band to facilitate computer manufacturers.6
