TRANSSION India which owns brands such Tecno, itel, Infinix has launched its new smartphone in India. The three newly launched smartphones – , A44 and A44 Pro are targeted at the budget segment of the market. itel S42 has been priced at Rs 8,499 and it comes with a 5.65-inch display and 18:9 HD plus resolution with ultra-thin bezel design. The touchscreen display offers a resolution of 720 pixels by 1440 pixels at a PPI of 285 pixels per inch. 

On the camera front, the itel S42 is equipped with dual flash 13 mega-pixel PDAF rear and 13 mega-pixel front camera. The camera division is supported by a f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens. It also offers 120-degree wide selfie angle and the bokeh beauty mode. 

Itel S42 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 with quad-core 1.4Ghz processor and it runs on latest Android Oreo operating system. The smartphone houses a 3GB RAM and internal memory of 16 GB which is expandable up to 128 GB with microSD card.

On functionality front, the itel S42 comes with a fingerprint sensor for unlocking the smartphone. The sensor also supports activities like taking pictures, answering and recordings calls, controls the alarm, as well as enables fast access to applications. itel S42 also boasts of an innovative face unlock feature which company claims make the phone more secure and safe.

As far as connectivity is concerned, the itel S42 is packed with dual-SIM and comes with 4G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The devices comes with 3000mAh Li-Polymer battery that itel claims will allow the device to run for up to 16 days on standby.
