Months after conducting (November) examination, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) which is a nodal government agency to conduct University Grant Commission's National Eligibility Test (NET) said that it would released ‘Scanned Images of OMR Answer Sheets, Recorded Responses & Answer Key' today at its official website – www.cbsenet.nic.in.

In a notification issued on Monday eveninng, CBSE said, “All the candidates who appeared in UGC NET 2017 (November) examination held on 05/11/2017 are informed that the scanned images of OMR answer sheets with their recorded responses and answer keys will be uploaded on the website cbsenet.nic.in from 12/12/2017 to 18/12/2017.”

CBSE UGC NET 2017 (November) examination was held in 91 cities at 1700 centres across the country. As many as 75% of 9.30 lakh candidates including 4,09,439 male and 519557 female candidates along with 3 transgenders who registered for the examination have appeared in November 5 test.  

CBSE UGC NET 2017 Answer Keys

Earlier, CBSE had uploaded the question papers and now the official answer keys are being released. CBSE has informed that there is a provision for the candidates to challenge the recorded responses if these differ from the ones they had marked on the OMR sheet. The challenge of scanned images of OMR answer sheets and answer key will be accepted online only, through the link available on the website cbsenet.nic.in from December 12 to December 18 (11:59 PM). CBSE said that the challenges submitted by post or in person will not be accepted. The prescribed fee of Rs. 1000/- per recorded response challenged will be required to be submitted through Credit/Debit Card only.

Similarly, there is also provision for candidates to challenge the answer keys through the link available on the website cbsenet.nic.in from December 12 to December 18 (11:59 PM). A fee of Rs.1000/- per question will be required to be submitted through credit/debit card. The fee once paid is non refundable.

As per CBSE rule, if the challenge is accepted by the Board i.e. if the recorded response is not the same as marked by the candidate on OMR sheet, correction will be done and the fee will be refunded. In case, any registered candidate does not submit the challenge by the prescribed date and time, it will be presumed that his/her recorded response is the same as marked on OMR sheet. Similarly, if the challenge is accepted by the Board i.e. if any mistake is noticed by the subject experts in the answer key, a policy decision will be notified on the website and the fee shall be refunded. The refund (if any) will be transferred online to the concerned credit/debit card account so, the candidates are advised to pay from their own credit/debit card. CBSE's decision on the challenges shall be final and no further communication will be entertained, said CBSE.

Steps to check CBSE UGC NET 2017 answer keys, scanned images of OMR answer sheets and recorded responses for November exam

The candidates can check CBSE UGC NET 2017 (November) answer key from the official website www.cbsenet.nic.in. To check CBSE UGC NET answer key, the candidates will have to log in to the website using application number and password. After entering the correct details, candidates images of OMR sheets, recorded responses, answer keys will be shown. Candidate should cross check all the answers and if they find any deviation, they may challenge the answer keys on the website itself.

Step 1: Candidates should go to the official website of the UGC NET exam – cbsenet.nic.in.

Step 2: On the homepage, they need to click on the answer keys link.

Step 3: After that enter your application number and password in the fields provided.

Step 4: Images of OMR sheets, recorded responses, answer keys will be shown.

Step 5: Cross check all the answers and if you find any deviation, you may challenge the answer kesy on the website itself.

According to UGC NET rules, while the candidates who qualify for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) are eligible to pursue research and are eligible for being Assistant Professor. On the other hand, a candidate who only qualify UGC NET exams but not JRF, is eligible for being appointed as Assistant Professor in any university, college across India.

The CBSE UGC NET 2017 November exam comprised of three papers – Paper 1, Paper 2 and Paper 3. The first paper known as “General Paper on Teaching & Research Aptitude” was common for all the candidates and rest two – Paper 1 and Paper 2 were subject based. This time, CBSE conducted UGC NET exam for as many as 94 subjects. While Paper 1 comprised 60 questions and carried a total of 100 marks and Paper 2 had 50 questions and carried a total of 100 marks, the Paper 3 was consist of 75 questions and carried a total of 150 marks. According to experts and some of the students who had appeared in different subjects said that the level of paper was easy to moderate but this could be different for different candidates and subjects.

UGC NET 2017 Results (November)

According to multiple reports, the CBSE UGC NET 2017 (November) examination results are likely to be announced in January 2018.
