From Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan‘s name and photo on MTS admit card to Salman Khan photograph on marksheet of BA first year student of Amrata Singh Memorial Degree College in Tejpur Java of Aligarh district, the saga of celebrity pictures and names getting pinned on the marksheet and admit cards in India seem to be never ending.

The latest discrepancy of photograph came to light at the time of distribution of the marksheet to the student of an Aligarh-based degree college, affiliated to the Agra University. The student’s enrolment number is given with his name on the marksheet (2016-17 session) but the photograph is that of actor Salman Khan.

When asked about the discrepancy, the University official denied this and said that they have not receive any complaint in this regard and would look into the matter if it was brought to their notice.

“We have verified our records which were found to be correct,” University claimed, denying any error on their part. “It is the student who fills the form and pastes his photo which is forwarded by the college principal after verification. An invigilator also checks the content,” Dr Girija Shankar told to reporters.

After through investigation, the university has blamed it on the private agency which was tasked to prepare the marksheets. The report card was recalled and rectified by the university after the blunder came to light.

A total of 7.2 lakh students belonging to more than a thousand colleges affiliated to Agra University appeared for examination for the 2016-17 session. Earlier last year, an inter college in Agra pasted a photo of Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, on an admit card issued by the state board for the high school examination.

Interestingly, President Ram Nath Kovind is expected to attend the university’s convocation in few days.
