After cancelling the conducted in June, finally Staff Selection will be conducting fresh examination for Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) on September 16 in computer based mode. The exam is scheduled to be held from September 16 to October 31. Since large number of applications have been received for the post of Multi Tasking (Non-Technical), the exam is being held in different shifts on different dates. More than 70 lakh candidates have registered for MTS Examination. This exam is being conducted to select junior staff in central government departments.

After a long time, due to Supreme Court direction, SSC MTS Exam were announced. Candidates who have passed matriculation examination or equivalent from a recognised board are eligible for the post of Multi Tasking Staff (Non-Technical). There are over 8000 vacancy across the country.

In a new method of exam, the basic pattern remain same but appearance of candidates have completely changed– it is no longer a paper and pen based. It is now a computer based examination. To ensure that candidates familiarise themselves with online examination system, the SSC had released SSC MTS 2017 Online Exam Tutorial. The four minute video prepared by SSC was released online. It is a demo of SSC MTS 2017 Online Exam to equip candidates with computer based examination system.

According to reports, SSC will first publish the results of paper 1. Only those candidates who qualifies in paper 1 would be allowed to appear for paper 2. Then those who appears for paper 2 will have to obtain a minimum cut off marks/qualifying marks set by SSC in order to be considered for merit. The cut off marks in paper 2 might differ from paper 1. SSC will published a merit list based on the combination of performance for paper 1 paper 2.

Candidates will be tested on general intelligence & reasoning, numerical aptitude, general English, general awareness. Each of these subjects have been equal weight of 25 marks. The total number of marks would be 100. The duration of exam would be 90 minutes for general candidates and 120 minutes for visually handicapped, cerebral palsy candidates. Once the entire exam is completed, SSC will release the SSC MTS answer keys.
