The last date to submit the online application form for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2017 (1st) has ended on September 5. Now, as per schedule, OTET 2017 admit card will be released from September 12 at the official website of the OTET - bseodisha.ac.in.

The last date to submit the online application form for the Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2017 (1st) has ended on September 5. Now, as per schedule, admit card will be released from September 12 at the official website of the OTET – bseodisha.ac.in. The online registration for OTET 2017 (1st) began on August 25 at 08.00 a.m. and it went till September 6, midnight. The exam authority is likely to release the admit card on September 12. The exam is scheduled to be held on September 25 between 10 am to 12.30 pm for Paper I and from 2 pm to 4.30 pm for Paper II.

As per rules of Government of Odisha, Department of School and Mass , OTET is applicable to all candidates who possess requisite academic and training qualifications with requisite percentage of marks and to all candidates pursuing the final year of the teacher training courses before the date of publication of advertisement for conducting OTET who aspire to become teachers for Classes-I o VIII in the schools of the state government, private aided schools and private unaided schools in the .

However, the candidates intending to seek employment as teachers in private un-aided schools shall also have the option of appearing at Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by central government through CBSE. The minimum qualification to be considered for OTET 2017 is that a candidates should have completed class 12 from a recognised board or institute.

OTET 2017 is being conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Odisha which is a corporate body constituted under the Odisha Secondary Education Act, 1953. It regulates, controls and develops Secondary Education in Odisha. It offers varied courses in order to equip students for different occupations, to prepare them for university education and to equip them for various cultural purposes.

OTET 2017 Exam Pattern, Syllabus

There are two paper for OTET 2017 – Paper 1 and Paper 2. A candidate can only appear in any one paper.  If they apply in both, their candidature will be rejected.

Paper 1: The paper will be of total 150 marks and will contain question on child development and pedagogy, a regional language (Odia, Urdu, Hindi, Telugu or Bengali), English, mathematics and environmental studies.

Paper 2: The paper will be of total 150 marks. It will include questions on three compulsory subjects- child development and pedagogy, a regional language and English- and an optional subject. Candidates can choose between maths and science or social studies for the optional section.

OTET 2017 Exam Timings

Paper 1: 10 am to 12:30 pm

Paper 2: 2 pm to 4:30 pm

Last date to apply for OTET 2017: September 6
Admit card available for download: September 12
Exam date: September 25 (Paper I – 10:00 am to 12:30 pm; Paper II – 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm)
