Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2017 (Tier-I) was conducted by SSC from August 5th 2017 to August 23rd 2017. A total of 15,43,962 candidates appeared in this examination which was held in 43 batches across the country.

Through Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2017 (Tier-I), SSC will recruit non-technical Group ‘B' and Group ‘C' non-gazetted posts in various government departments and ministries. This exam is conducted every year. All the candidate who have appeared in Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2017 (Tier-I) can check SSC CGL Tier 1 Results 2017 on October 31 at the official website of SSC – ssc.nic.in.

Fortunately, this year no major hiccup has happened and no case of paper leak was reported. As per the last update from SSC, the Commission has registered criminal cases against three candidates indulging in exam related malpractices which includes two cases of impersonation and one case of cheating. The official notification for Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2017 (Tier-I) was released by SSC on May 16. A total of 4733 vacancies are to be filled by SSC CGL 2017 exam.

For the government jobs, Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is one the most sought after organisations as it conducts examinations for different government jobs throughout the year. Combined Graduate Level – SSC CGL exam is held every year for the recruitment of non-technical Group ‘B' and Group ‘C' non gazetted officer in various government organisation.

Earlier, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government had announced that government would hire as many as 2.2 Lakh people. Out of these a maximum of 70,000 vacancies, will be created in Income Tax, Excise and Customs Department. Approximately 14 lac candidates appear for the SSC CGL exam every year.

The SSC CGL Exam 2016 had an initial count of 4500 to 5000 vacancies. However, the number of vacancies was increased to 9000 later. For 2017 CGL Exam, the number of vacancies as declared by Staff Service Commission of India is only 4733.
