The results for Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2017 has been declared today. Earlier, the were to be announced on May 27 but due to delay in the declaration of Central Board for Secondary Education (CBSE) and Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ICSE) results forced the KEA to postpone the results to May 30. Both CBSE and ICSE results have declared Class 12th results.

KEA conducts Common Entrance Test every year for determining the eligibility for undergraduate professional courses including medical, engineering, architecture, pharmacy and agriculture across Karnataka.

There are large number of schools in the state that are affiliated to CBSE and ICSE. An announcement of Karnataka CET 2017 results without having these board results would have created speculation and confusion as the board would have to allot separate CET ranking for these board students.

A board official told New Indian Express that “if the CET results were announced before the CBSE and ICSE results then it would cause inconvenience to the students and it will be double work even for us. Considering this, we decided to wait for three days.”

Karnataka CET 2017 examination was conducted on May 2 and May 3. Over 220 government colleges, private aided and private un-aided institutes and universities enrol undergraduate students on the basis of Karnataka CET 2017 ranks.
