Just before , and Oracle have collaborated for . US-based cloud infrastructure firm VMware said that it has partnered with technology giant Oracle for Oracle's suite of mobile business applications and Oracle Mobile Cloud Service (OMCS) for mobile devices. Through this collaboration, Oracle's mobile ecosystem can now leverage application management and security through VMware , said VMware.

VMware is the first mobile application management provider to manage and secure hundreds of Oracle business applications and custom applications built on the OMCS. As such, enterprise IT organisations can manage their Oracle application suite on a single unified platform together with their other business-critical applications and devices. Users who count on Oracle's business applications can benefit by being able to access these applications through a simple digital workspace environment – be it from a mobile device, laptop or desktop – with VMware Workspace ONE and AirWatch.

“Mobilising critical business processes is at the core of both of our organizations' DNA and this collaboration will help us advance this shared vision for our customers and their end users alike,” said  Sanjay Poonen, chief operating officer, customer operations, VMware.

Oracle's suite of business applications helps customers of all sizes manage the complexities of global business environments. OMCS simplifies by giving customers a complete mobile solution and the choice and flexibility to develop their own unique enterprise mobile strategy. OMCS makes it easy for enterprises to develop and extend existing enterprise applications or build custom apps with a Mobile First platform.

“Oracle has many customers who have standardised on VMware Workspace ONE for application security and management. With this agreement, everyone involved—Oracle, VMware, our customers and their end users—can benefit from the two companies working together,” said Thomas Kurian, president, Oracle.
