Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is a government organisation which is responsible for conducting various examinations for filling the vacant post in central government. Different ministries, department and government agencies rely on SSC for hiring human resources. In the month of February 2017, SSC completed the online registration of candidates interested to apply for SSC MTS Non-Technical (SSC MTS 2017) position in central government. These position were offered to anybody who has passed 10th class from any recognised board.
SSC MTS 2017 Exam Paper: Current Status
On April 30, 2017, SSC MTS Paper were conducted across the country. First shift paper went smoothly. But the SSC found that MTS Exam 2017 second shift papers were compromised. Hence, it cancelled the MTS Exam 2017 of afternoon shift. Since then no new date has been announced for the re-exam. According to a statement from SSC, “The re-examination for only those candidates who appeared in this shift will be held in due course and the candidates would be suitably informed.
Apart from April 30, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is conducting MTS Exam 2017 on four more dates – May 14th and 28th, June 4th and 11 June.
Currently, SSC is conducting exams for paper 1, exams for paper 2 will be held later this year in December 17, 2017. According to reports, SSC is likely to release the answer keys for MTS 2017 written test after the completion of last paper on June 11, 2017.
SSC MTS answer key 2017
So far question papers and answer keys for the morning shift which was conducted on April 30, 2017 have been uploaded by independent coaching centres. Since the evening shift exams on the same day were cancelled due to paper leak. So, the questions and answer keys will become redundant. Government will announce the new date for the exam very soon.
SSC MTS 2017 Notification
A notification was issued in this regard, earlier in the month of December 2016 and the last date of submitting MTS Online Application was 3rd February 2017.
SSC MTS 2017 Application form – Online Registration
Candidates were given the option to apply online. No SSC MTS Registration form were available for offline mode as SSC did not accept offline registration for SSC MTS Exam 2017.
Last date for SSC MTS Exam 2017 papers were extended till 3rd February 2017. According to the reports, more than 70 lakh candidates have registered for SSC MTS Examination 2017.

SSC MTS Scheme of Examination
The Written Examinations consist of (Paper-I) objective type paper and (Paper-II) descriptive type.
- Paper-I consists of Objective Type – Multiple Choice Questions
- There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.
- Paper-II will be descriptive in which the candidates will be required to write short essay in English include in the 8thSchedule of the constitution.

SSC MTS exam 2017 analysis for morning shift
Some of the report suggested that that paper's level was easy, which in turn may increase the cut off. Quantitative aptitude section was easy to solve. Two questions were asked from bar graph, two questions each from topics of Time and work, SI & CI, average and partnership, and percentage. Around twelve questions came from topics on mensuration, profit & loss, and speed distance & time.
The language English section had 50 questions and it was of moderate level. According to experts, reasoning section was easy. Analogy, Arithmetic operations, series and classification were big part.
General awareness section was of moderate level. It had ten questions from Geography, eight from Biology & Physics, Economy, Polity & computers, and current affairs had five questions each.
Selection criteria for SSC MTS 2017
According to reports, SSC will first publish the results of paper 1. Only those candidates who have qualified in paper 1 would be allowed to seat for paper 2.
Then those who appears for paper 2 will have to obtain a minimum cut off marks/qualifying marks set by SSC in order to be considered for merit. The cut off marks in paper 2 might differ from paper 1. SSC will published a merit list based on the combination of performance for paper 1 paper 2.

SSC MTS Result 2017 will updated online after completion of the paper – 1. The results are likely to be announced within 45 days after completion of Paper-1. Then those who appears for paper 2 will have to obtain a minimum cut off marks/qualifying marks set by SSC in order to be considered for merit. The cut off marks in paper 2 might differ from paper 1.
